The Blue Value Chain is essential for a sustainable and blue bioeconomy in Europe. Understanding how biomass, such as mussels and algae, can be transformed from a raw material into a marketable product, and then bringing that product to scale is still an ongoing challenge.

This webinar aims to shine the spotlight on three separate areas of the blue value chain and showcase its inner workings. On July 8th, BaMS will bring together international actors representing research and industry to map out the entire blue value chain each step of the way.

5 Scaling the Blue Bioeconomy

Speaker: Julia Lange: An introduction to BaMS B3 project addressing the regional “scaling gap” in Schleswig-Holstein by conceptualising a modular scale-up facility for actors in the blue bioeconomy.

Our goal is to map the complexities of the Blue Value Chain and highlight how these initiatives work to create innovative solutions to develop the blue bioeconomy while achieving the EU’s bioeconomy and sustainability goals. We aim to foster dialogue on overcoming regulatory, technical, and financial barriers to accelerate the European blue bioeconomy.
